Mary Onyali

Mary Onyali is a five-time Olympian and a decorated former member of the Texas Southern University (TSU) women’s track & field team. A dominant sprinter, she holds a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) record in the 100 meters (11.25) and was a key member of TSU’s 4x100-meter relay team, which set a SWAC record of 43.94 seconds.

A true force in collegiate athletics, Onyali boasts an impressive five NCAA medals, including a national title in the 200 meters. Throughout her TSU career, she won eight individual events at the SWAC Outdoor Track Championships and contributed to seven TSU relay teams that claimed conference titles. Her dominance extended to indoor track, where she secured four individual SWAC titles and was a part of three championship-winning relay teams.

Hailing from Nigeria, Onyali’s exceptional talent and commitment to the sport have cemented her legacy as one of the most accomplished sprinters in TSU and SWAC history. Beyond her athletic achievements, she is a passionate advocate for track & field development and serves as a Board Member of the Track World Athletic Talent Hunt Foundation, an organization dedicated to identifying and nurturing emerging track & field talents worldwide.
